    Quick Question,

The Sony line Vaio AR has been out for quite some time, I think a year to two. When is sony going to update it with a new line of 17" to replace it?

I think same series would be the same in screen size the difference will on be in the features and devices added like blue-ray or hd tv capture card.

Comparing the older AR590E top model to the current AR690 we change from Windows Home Premium to Ultimate and the speed goes up to 2.2 GHz from 2.0GHz before. Otherwise, yes, they seem the same.

that was what i was thinking. because currently the AR lacks number pad and fingerprint reader, and the model has been around for a while. so i don't want to buy the AR if it is going to replaced soon

My guess would be a new design centered around the release of the Penryn chips from Intel come the new year, that seems to be what they do sometimes, is an overhaul when a new chip/chipset comes out for a series here or there.
