I have a chance to buy a cheap piece of Vaio Z with Sprint WWAN modem and WWAN antena.
I live in the Czech Republic, Europe - we use mainly GPRS and EDGE here.
Is it enough to replace the sprint EVDO modem with this (see the link), to be able to reach European frequencies and have a SIM-card slot available?

???
Can I use current antena (I mean the WWAN antena in LCD panel, ment to be use for SPRINT)? Is it the same for US and Europe?
I have read a lot about this topic (WWAN problems US-EU-JP) and this forum helped me very much - I am so thankful. This leaves to be the only thing I havent figured out. Hope you will help me![]()
Thank you, MP

All the antenna does is boost signal dBi. I believe it's technology (evdo, hsdpa) independent. BTW, nice find on the WWAN card, I might have to buy one of those for my Latitude.

Thanks for these words. Could someone else confirm this?
I just want to be sure, as I am going to break into a $1000+ notebook... -
Yes, you can still use the antenna.

Confirmed, yes you can use the antenna.
Is Sprint WWAN antena usable, while Sprint modem replaced with European one?
