I stumbled upon the new AR61 machiens (called AR7XX in the states I think) and looking being a software developer/consultant looking for a mobile 17" powerhouse, I got interested. But, after almost a day of searching for reviews, forum posts etc, it seems like very few people actually use the AR machines, or ever have? The previous model, the AR51 doesnt turn up all that many hits when searching for reviews and forum posts either. I've owend A LOT of laptops in my days (currently a MacBook Pro) but have never owned a VAIO, so I am not a "brand expert" as some of you in here migth be, so all this makes me a bit conserned, as I dont feel like being the first ever to try these babies out. Especially considering I am to use this a a tool in my work and not just for pleasure. Should I?

I'm looking into the AR series as well... Got my eyes on the AR61zu...

They're nice laptops, but tend to be overpriced for what they are. A comparable HP or Sager costs significantly less.

I used an AR150G for a year and a half until the LCD developed colored lines. Overall it was a great machine though. The pricing on the AR7 series (USA) is much more reasonable than it was when the AR's were first released. One thing to note about the AR, the case is very large, larger even than most 17" notebooks. It is fairly thin though, and looks fantastic in person.
Is anyone actually using the AR machines?
