Is extended warranty on Sony Vaio Z 2012 worth it?

Right now I can get the Sony Vaio Z 2012 for $1000 Canadian before tax, which includes:

i5 2.5ghz processor (wondering if it is worth the extra $150 to get the i7 quad core)
    8gb RAM
    256GB SSD
    1080P screen

It comes out to $1599.99, but I have $600 saved up in points on my Sony Mastercard.

On the Sony store Canadian website, the accidental 2 year extended warranty is $520, and the 2 year extended warranty is about $320. Is this really worth it? Will the prices of these warranties ever go down, or is there a way I can get them for cheaper?

    Thanks.
