Hey guys, I own a Sony S series SB 19 with the i7 processor 256g SSD, and as per title was wondering if its okay to keep it in a sleeve when its sleeping?

When I listen to it it seems like the fans have shut down but I would like to check with you guys.

Also I was wondering if it was possible to replace the DVD multi super drive for bluray?

If anyone has any questions about the Laptop in question feel free to ask, I use it mainly for uni and intend to use it for gaming. The battery life (using extended battery) and portability are fantastic!

Thank you very much for any information!

No don't leave it sleeping, it can accidentally turn on and heat everything up which can ultimately ruin your system such as the screen.

The DVD may be able to be changed out to a UJ242, same as the Z but no one's done it before so not 100% sure if everything is compatible. (eg your eject button on the keyboard- your eject key is on the kb right?)

Hey yes the eject button is on the keyboard

So the main risk is of the laptop accidentally turning on? but other than that no harm is being done? But yea thanks for the advice its not worth risking with boot up being so quick anyway!

Putting a sleeping laptop in a bag seems like a bad idea. Check out this thread:

Try putting it in a string bag for the first few trips, so you can see the power light - if it stays yellow, fine. If it turns green - trouble. I'm assuming the light turns green when the laptop wakes up!
