    Hi there

I love my 13.3" VGN-SZ650N/C so far but I also want to get a used TZ series 11" Vaio Laptop but most of the models are only using slower 1.8 " 4200rpm drive.

Assume if I got a decent issue of a used TZ from eBay, is it worthy to spend extra $$ to upgrade those 1.8 " 4200 rpm drive to something faster ?

May I know what kind of options I have ?/

Please kindly help me out. :D

PATA drives are expensive. I checked them out on newegg for the Dell Mini 12 and was shocked at their cost compared to SATA. Did you check on them?

You can buy a TZ with SSD, a TZ with 1.8" 4200rpm hard drive + 2.5" hard drive without DVD drive or a TZ with 1.8" 4200 rpm drive and do a DIY upgrade.

The only PATA drives I can find on Newegg are SSDs. And they're all 2.5" Form Factor, not 1.8"...the Mini 12 uses 1.8" drives, right?

Dell made a stupid decision using PATA 4200rpm drives in the Mini 12...dont' you think?
