Im looking to buy the SZ230 P/B and I like it except the top casing looks cheap and the carbon-body seems more durable. However, the price difference is $450 dollars, hard to justify for a computer with all the same specs. Any thoughts?

Another quic question, what type of extended warranty would on recommend to buy? The warranties at circuit city and compUSA are expensive ($250-$350 for two years), but Sony offers a decent warranty package but as everyone says, they have terrible service. I as thinking about risking and keeping the maufacturers 1 year waranty and then re-newing it after a year. Thoughts?

    Thanks so much everyone!

I really don't think that the premium models are worth it. I am really happy with my 120 and I never even considered buying one. There are only minor differences and the carbon casing is just for looks.

I bought the SZ 250, 2,199 USD, model on Portable One.
I paid with American Express, which adds another year to the standard one year warantee.

The price difference is only huge if you buy on SonyStyle.
    Shop smart.

The carbon casing only may not be worth the price, but everything that comes with a premium model is.

What else comes with the premium model? It seems as if its only the carbon body and the ultra-thin screen, although the screen seems to have the same resolution as the P/B.

Absolutely - I had the SZ120 and returned it for the SZ 260 and the screen alone is worth the price - it is so much better than the SZ 120 screen. Thanks!

I really like the thin carbon lid on the premium and the fact that it's MUCH brighter.
You will only get carbon material in the lid and no where else.

Carbon fiber since you cant tell on the american models doesnt seem worth it, but having the upgraded screen is.
