Is the Vaio F22 being phased out already?

front page of the Sony Store's webpage, it says "save up to $200. Limited-time offer: special savings on closeout VAIO laptops while supplies last." It's got a picture of the F22 (I know it's not the F21 since it's matte), the C, and some variety of the S.

And the F22's price has dropped by $200 on the website. The F2290X's price has dropped to $799.

So does this mean that the F22 is being phased out? In other words, if I wait until December to buy, is the F22 still going to be available new then?

How do you expect people here to know this? Only Sony knows it! Its like asking 'can someone tell me when the next iphone 5 weill be released for sure?" :))

I don't assume that I know EVERYTHING that isn't classified as "insider information." Sometimes I just haven't seen a news story on a particular issue and I'm checking if others (who follow Sony more closely) have, y'know?

Don't wait too long to buy the F22 at this low price, it might be out of stock soon.

    ^^

It won't get phased out, just that as beaups mentioned the F22 gets replaced with F23.

Any news on the F23? Better GPU? Switchable graphics?

I got my F11 4 weeks before the F12 was announced. It was also $200 off.

...that makes no sense. It already has a perfectly good CPU for the price (and that's just the base quad-core i7, not the two upgrade options!!!) but the 540M is getting downright underwhelming for a $1000+ multimedia machine. And don't even get me started on the 520M, which falls into the "for $1000? Sony should be ashamed to even offer that anymore" category.

Well you have to make do with the 540m or buy something else. Or wait till next year for F3 lol

I know that's how it is; I'm just saying that's now how it should be as long as they're updating the F2 anyway.

All mainstream mfr's update cpu's on a similar cadence. It's an Intel thing.
