    My friend just ordered a Z series, but it doesn't specifically say backlit keyboard. Is there ANY chance that the keyboard might lack back lighting?

    No, you have to turn it on in the vaio control center and it has to be dark.

    no.. The new Zs are all backlit keyboard. U need to type in the dark for the keyboard to lit.

    actually in asia, the cto models have the option of NOt having it.
    although I dont know who not want this. one of the best reason to get this notebook
