No. And frankly changing the speed settings ("Quiet" through "Performance") seems to make zero difference to actual fan operation.
Most of the actual noise, however, seems to be idle noise from the hard drive, not the fan (even though it seems like it's coming from the fan). -
Why would you want to disable the fan and burn out the processor & board?
Just stick a toothpick in the fan port and jam the thing. You should have that laptop fried in no time. -
I think what he probably means is lowering the threshold for when the fan kicks on or up. The SZ runs obscenely cool, you'd figure they could be a bit more lenient in allowable temperatures if the user desired it...

That makes more sense and it would be neat to do that. I guess the wording 'completely disable the fan' initially threw me off. Thanks for clarifying.
