Is there any logic to FW model numbering online vs. retail ?

On Sony's site, they list currently available model numbers as FW290 ... this would appear to be the latest and greatest ... Retail outlets like Micro Center and Best Buy have FW140, FW160, FW180, FW280, etc. but I don't see any FW290 at retail. I just want to make sure if I decide to pick up an FW series at retail that I'm not getting an old chipset or old display technology or something ...

    TIA.

FW290 is the model of the customizable Vaio FW I believe(as is the FW190). The other models are pre-made and therefore are the ones sold in retail stores. Normally the higher the model numebr gets, the higher the specs and model price. The FW290 has the highest number since you ca customize it with the highest stats possible for the machine, while the pre-made models are made lower for budgets.
