    Hi All,

I own a Macbook, and on that if F2 and F3 directly it changes the brightness on the laptop and also volume too.

On my Z610Y, I want the same thing. What I mean is that I don't want to Press on Fn (Green Key) and F4 or F5 to change brightness same goes for the volume.

There must be something out there.

Please share if there is anything.

    Thanks

Possible, with the help of software. However got to be careful though, some of those keys have special meaning in certain programs. lol.

Eg, in windows explorer F2 = rename.

You may want to look at "Special Buttons" under the "VAIO Control Panel" there you have a few options like "Muting" and "Max Brightness" that you can assign to the S1 & S2 keys.

I just went to Best Buy yesterday and all the new Dell Laptops are doing that too.
I think it's all relative, how often we use F2 to rename something vs Changing Volume and Brightness.
I think there should have been dedicated key for Volume and Brighness.
    Again it's all relative.

The main thing that's really missing from Vaio Z is the ability to change the brightness of the keyboard backlight, which is possible on MacBooks.

I find this pretty irritating because the Z keyboard backlight is too bright when it's needed (i.e. very dark situations), much brighter than the screen (at min brightness) and thus quite distracting. =/

Are you able to change S2 button as well?

In my control center, only S1 button is shown and can be edited, no S2 button mentioned at all?

    What about you guys?
