I have a Japanese VAIO FS-70B with the standard centrino 1.73ghz, upgraded ram to 1GB, rest of the specs are standard to the american counterpart except the screen is 15.4" 1680 x 1050 in res. the problem is that the battery drains way way too fast. on sony's SUPER STAMINA mode and just using light applications, the battery drains at a rate of 1% per minute.
i have put AS5 on the CPU and the GPU so the fan on works when the notebook gets really hot (which it doesnt often). did i fail to burn-in the battery properly or is this just the problem with the system?

I doubt you worn in the batteyr wrong, but 60 minutes is obviously not right. It's possible the battery is defective. Even if you had everything running on the machine, there's no way it should crap out that fast. I'd call support and see about getting a new battery.

Well, it's more than 60 minutes, unless there's only 60% in 100%

Hardline test.

I only bought this thing last year in Feb. Is it really defective? Would a VGP-BPS2C or VGP BPL2C be better than buying a replacement of the model I have now (VGP-BPS2)?
The VGP-BPS2C is supposed to be a 5200 capacity 9 cell bat. -
Your battery is not likely defective, but worn-out. My T250's battery used to last 6 hours, and after approximately one year it only lasts 2-3hrs.
What you need is a new battery. According to sonystyle, the standard battery you need is VGP-BPS2, and the large capacity is VGP-BPL2. You should not get anything else other than those two.
Is there something faulty with my battery?
