Hey Guys,
I was wondering if the space bar problem still exists in the SZ3. Basically it doesn't work when you press on either side of it.
Here's the old video on youtube that shows how it's fixed.

Mine works well
No issues with the spacebar here. (Aus version)
So far after a week of use, overall, I'm very pleased with mine. The issues I have with it are, most are minor though:-
1. the power brick is huge!! (at least it is a 3 pronged one) Need to find a smaller travel one
2. have not used or setup the nvidia video as yet
3. software bloat. I've uninstalled as much as I dare for now
4. the keyboard took me a while to get used to. can't describe it, feels different from my old W3V
5. the edge on the touchpad is quite pronounced (compared to the W3V again) so everytime my finger hits the edge at the moment, I keep on thinking that the palm rest has come away from the touchpad!!
6. the touchpad buttons are on the small side. i would have preferred them to relocate the biometric scanner and increase the size of the buttons
on the plus side:-
1. it is so much lighter than my old notebook
2. the screen is beautiful and the resolution is wonderful
3. it runs so much cooler as well
4. it is much more powerful and faster than my old notebook
5. the size is just perfect
6. the bluetooth seems to be much better and responsive than on the old notebook (same mouse, less lag)
7. it is also quieter when the fan is on too!!

Thanks for the reply dodgey. It's good to know that the Aussie SZ3 space bar works fine.
And a big thankyou for that likes/dislikes synopsis =). Very unexpected.
I'm planning to get the SZ38GP in the next day or two for $AU 3,325.00 how good is that deal!!! And with the money I saved I'm going to add another 1GB module of RAM and a 100GB 7200rpm HDD. Hmmmmmmmm sooo exciting!!!!
Hahaha. You really hate that 'brick of a power adapter' don't you. I think you should be happy because the U.S models don't get the three prong adapter and people are feeling the electric tingle because it's not grounded. A two prong travel adapter shouldn't be too hard to come by anyway. =D
Cheers -
I played with one (Australian SZ34) in a store last week, and it still had the same problem as my old SZ160 bought in the US...
So I don't believe the problem has been fixed -
Hi, I have a European model (SZ3XP), that is similiar to SZ360.The space bar it's perfect. No problem at all. I think they fixed it. But I found other problem in my keyboard. When I press more than two keys simultaneous the keyboard doesn't register the keys. This happens with some keys combinations only. But When I'm playing games, like Pro Evolution Soccer 6, it's terrible. I don't know if it could be a problem for you or not. For me, I'm still trying to find a way to solve this. I Would like to know, if there's anyone else with this problem too. I hope this is not an hardware limitation, but only a bios problem.
Besides this, the notebook is wonderful, flexible, quiet, cool, fast... It's almost perfect! -
yes, the SZ is a fantastic laptop, if only it didn't come with Windows but MacOS

You may soon have your wish. I hear that some peeps have gotten Mac OS to run on a regular Windows lappy.
