I am looking for a laptop and came across this deal laptop for $799, would this be considered a bargain that would be hard to pass up?

I am posting here because i don't know much about sonys. I once had one and the only issue for me was that i deleted all partitions on a rebuild and the i couldn't install any OS on it because it wouldn't read any discs. So it wasn't really as friendly other laptop manufacturers

So i kinda stayed away from them for a few years. I did remember it ran hot just surfing the net. But this was back when Pentium 3?? with speed step.

NOw i am seeking advice from the Sony Gurus on this forum for some opinions.

I filled out an FAQ a week or so back regarding my laptop choices. But it will be shared between my wife and I , she will surf mainly and i will play World of Warcraft and Warhammer ( MMO ).
My current choices for laptops are , W500 or the M4400. I know they aren't in the same class but if i can save $500 i am willing to.

The components on this laptop sounds definitely great.

But from reading a few threads the FW build quality isnt all that shabby.

Also does XBRITE-ECO technology mean LED??

thanks ahead of time for all your time.

No the screen is not LED, just an old-school LCD. Some people would say the ECO screen is not that great for a Sony screen, especially compared to the X-brite screen but you should know that even that ECO screen is rated above average compared to other laptop screens.

All in all, that is actually a pretty good deal on the laptop with those specs and if you want it, I recommend buying it.

So what does that mean ? this is what the laptop has
    Screen Size 16.4" XBRITE-ECO technology Resolution 1600 x 900

your comment is telling my XBRITE is good but on the description it has both terms. So is this correct for me to understand?

    XBRITE-ECO decent
    XBRITE very good?

    so confusing heh

My bad, I meant Xbrite-FullHD, which has a resolution of 1920x1080 and the screen has a double lamp for more vivid colours.
