Is this a good deal and a good laptop for me?

So I'm starting college so I'll be doing a lot of word processing and research. I also have a lot of music and pictures (but no more than 9 GB) I'll be putting on the laptop. I do some very light gaming, if any. I watch youtube and hulu clips every once in a while but I never download movies or watch dvds on the computer. I do a lot of web browsing and stuff like that but nothing too major.

The laptop I'm wondering about probably seems like more than I need but that's because I don't want to have to replace it in a couple of years. I'd rather pay the extra money for a nicer laptop now, when I still have extra money.

    Anyway, here's the link:
Walmart.com: Sony 15.5" VAIO VPC-EE23FX Laptop PC with AMD Athlon II Processor, Flash Drive, Case & Printer Bundle: Computers

Thanks in advance for any advice given. :)

That computer's feature is more than adequate to do what you've described. Not much for gaming, of course...probably only 2D games that don't require much in the way of video acceleration.

I agree with FrinkTL. This isn't a powerful computer by any means. But it should do just fine storing your pics and music, doing word processing, and watching youtube videos and doing web browsing.

But keep in mind too that the battery life on this computer isn't going to be great either, and I tend to think that's important for college students most of the time. I would maybe check out a computer with a smaller screen. If you're interested in Sony, you might check out the Vaio EA or Y series, as they are smaller and will get better battery life (especially the Y). They will be more expensive though.
