lovelaptops MY FRIENDS CALL ME JEFF!
That is an absolute STEAL of a deal!! Sorry for using caps, but I think you should, run, don't walk, to seal that deal before the seller figures out the value of what he has - seriously. No need to extoll that model's virtues, even at age 2 it remains among the most powerful, versatile and lightest 13" ultraportables even by today's standards. The 512GB RAID0 SSD array and gorgeous 1080p, 95% Adobe color gamut screen put nearly every laptop at any price today to shame. The cpu, as a full voltage mobile Core i7, is faster than the top level cpu used in the best Ivy Bridge Ultrabooks and ultraportables because most all use ultra low voltage processors. And the Z13's overall mix and sheer number of connectivity options also cream the best of today's ultraportables, much less Ultrabooks. And if you're like the 99% of people who never want to see another optical disk drive (I happen to be among the 1 percenters
), the Z13's amazingly engineered chassis offers the opportunity to add virtually unlimited amounts of additional storage - in case the 512 GB quad SSD array isn't enough for you! - because it accommodates any 2.5" SSD (alas, only 3Gb/s) or HDD in the DVD drive bay.
All this, and it's got 2 years of Accidental Damage warranty left?!!!
This deal is the very incarnation of the term no-brainer. If you're not sure you want it for yourself, buy it anyway - and sell it to me. -

Achusaysblessyou eecs geek ftw :D
wow... it's a great deal! I'd jump on it if I were you, and knowing sony, I'd drop the laptop in Feb 2014 and hope they give you a new laptop or your money back
.
In any case, for most intents and purposes it's a great deal, this used to be a $4500 model w/o warranty, with the warranty he has (3 year accidental damage warranty), that pushes the purchasing price close to $5000 USD.
Only gripes (if there was any), is the palmrest may fade and the GPU (both integrated and discrete) are dated. Otherwise, get it!
edit: Ninja posted me
And not to mention, that thing could probably still net $1700 easy. -
Great buy, uddinf3. I'm also of the opinion that the VPC-Z is the best ultraportable ever. Mine is still running like a champ. Puts ultrabooks to shame and weighs less to boot. And has an optical drive (I am part of the 1% that actually needs it). Enjoy!

Great buy.
Just remember, don't expect updated graphics drivers from Sony.
Read these humongous threads while you wait.

Don't let these threads scare you - it is still a beautiful machine, and one that I'm loath to give up. Make sure you get the noise cancelling headphones - the built in speakers are worthless POS. -
I'm about to sell mine and hope to get about twice that. Just try to make sure it's not stolen.

Definitely an excellent deal!
Congrats on your purchase!
Is this a good deal for an old Z
