    Hi!

I forgot to get Extended Warranty with ADH (accidental damage from handling) when I got my SZ730E/C and later found out about a Sony extended warranty that is being sold on numerous on-line vendors.

VGP3SYLPAD: this is a 3 year plan and it goes for around $220. I think this is a great price for an extend warranty with ADH...but my only concern is...is this a genuine Sony extended warranty? Genuine meaning being fix through Sony (probably Service Net but still being protected under Sony brand)?

Also comes in a 4 year package...

Anybody have experience with this extended warranty? Reading the description it seems like genuine Sony but want to be sure before I get it.

If this is a genuine Sony product that will be handled by Sony via Service Net (having to use exclusive Sony toll free - high priority within Service Net), is this the same thing as Sony's extend warranty with ADH that's sold on Sonystyle.com?

    Thanks in advance...

I believe you can extend the warranty at any time during the initial warranty period (usually a year). But I'm afraid I can't answer your specific query.

it's legit. i bought my 3 year extended with ADH through provantage. i did register it directly through sony as well so any problems will be handled by servicenet (or whoever sony uses).

just fyi though, i think an extended warranty with ADH must be activated within the first 30 days of getting your notebook. a regular extended warranty (no ADH) can be purchased as long as your regular warranty hasn't expired yet. check with sony to be sure.
