    Hi,
I had to remove all pre-installed software, including windows, because it is not allowed by corporate policy.
Then after, performed a clean network install of "Corporate Windows" from RIS server by loading required installation on a network. There were few problems with network adapter drivers supplied by Sony (they did not work in DOS boot mode), but that was fixed quickly with intel "good" drivers.
Installation completed and all missing drivers are re-installed with those from sony web site and also from DVD recovery disk #1. Recovery drivers and drivers on sony web site are not exactly the same, some of them are not presented on web.
Now everythin looks good, except the fact that I having a hard time to make GPRS modem to work. I know that it is locked when shipped with cingular service. Unlock procedure is known, but major problem is that I can not install drivers for GPRS modem (built-in SonyEricsson, i presume) and SmartWi utility required to operate with this hardware and make configuration.
My particular issue is that when I try to install SmartWi utility, it complains that c:\windows\drivers\VDC EGPRS Modem Driver\Setup.exe program could not be found.
Indeed, Windows corporate installation resides in WinWKST not in Windows.
I have copied drivers\VDC EGPRS Modem Driver\ directory from recovery DVD #1 into WinWKST and also created on C: drive directory c:\windows\drivers\VDC EGPRS Modem Driver\ with all drivers found on DVD #1 drivers directory. BUT STILL HAVE NO LUCK.
Maybe some of you have recommendations and ideas what else should I try or what I am missing.
    Thanks.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but where did you find the SmartWi utility? I have the recovery disks...
