Whenever I stream something, be it youtube videos or flash content, it feels kinda jumpy... I could stream without any problems with my 3 year old 512mb ram windows xp-filled-with-crap hp desktop crap.
I paid $3200 + $299 insurance so it came to be a little over $3500 dollars so I dont expect to have any problems doing something as basic as streaming videos and flash content. I dont expect to play bioshock on this, but I sure as hell expect to be able to do something as basic as streaming stuff.
Is there a way to fix it? I dont think is the video driver since I upgraded it like two days ago, and downloaded the latest flash software. Anything else I could do? Any help GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

no one????

I experienced the same problem, the only way to fix it under vista is to set the graphics to vista basic meaning disable aero.
The other alternative is to install xp. -
I dissabled the AERO, the shading and all the 3d crap.
now it does feel kind of smoothier. I dont have the problem with youtube videos anymore. But I do have them with Cnet videos still.
Any other ideas? I hope they fix this with Vista SP1 -
I didnt switch to windows classic though. It would be a sin to have such a good looking laptop running with that crappy interface.
-
I installed XP. -
Im not going to install XP. I like vista and its pretty fast. This is the only issue I have
-
it'll be even faster with xp
-
Wont XP become obsolete after a while?
Im afraid ill have problem with the drivers.
If it were just as easy as popping in the sp2 xp cd and booting from it ill do it. but i dont want to have any problems -
xp will still be supported for a while.
many business wont make the change to vista for quite sometime
theres a thread for putting xp on your tz somewhere here. -

I just need to convince myself a little more before I turn to XP.. It seems kinda confusing with all the different drivers and stuff...
-
I mean, I KNOW what to do, but I dont want to mess a 3200 dollar laptop

You can edit your posts, if you want to add something, calot.
XP seems fairly easy to install, and you could always reinstall Vista (by installation or image) if you want to go back. -
Im sorry nanaki.
Would I have to buy windows xp sp2? I guess I would.. -
lol, I'm not getting angey. I didn't know if you knew, so I thought I would mention it.
And, yeah, if you don't already have a product key, you will need to buy a copy. -
It costs 200 bucks
Ill have to think about that. Just today I got my 8gb memory stick! I love it. Its not the fastest, but it does what I need.
Ill have to think about spending more money, lol, I dont even have a job -
You can get an OEM version for just $90 for Home Edition.

I don't understand why your video would be choppy. I have not had any video watching problems with two TZs now, and I use Vista with everything turned on. Are you throttling processor cycles somehow? You could also be many Internet "hops" from YouTube and CNET (both are in the Bay Area) and that could be causing choppy video. Try streaming video from a site closer to you.

whats an oem?
-
I really dont know how to fix that
-
-
Im gonna research how to fix that... Well im going to sleep now its pretty late downhere.. I hope I can fix it tomorrow
-
carlot, FYI, I can watch youtube flashes and divX movies fine when my TZ runs at 555Mhz using RMClock (under-volting). So it must be something to do with your graphics card driver or codec, obviously I find XP runs soooo much faster. Note that I used the latest intel chipset+graphics driver from the the intel website.
But this may not be the case. Overall, you'd have to figure out how to install drivers for XP.. ahaha... I'm having some problems with installing some devices.
Have a read here.
