    Hi,

I recently started experiencing problems when loading the Fingerprint Software Application and VAIO Care. The following errors are reported:

    Fingerprint Software Application:
When launching the application from the taskbar it returns a windows error "Fingerprint Software Application has stopped working"

    VAIO Care 6.3:
When launching VAIO Care it returns an error message "VAIO Care has experienced an error. Please restart application". When I click on OK it returns a second warning "The Type Initialiser for 'System.Windows.Media.Fontfamily' threw an exception". When I click on OK it comes up with a windows error reporting message "VAIO Care 6.3 has stopped working"

The model is a VPCZ137GG and all Windows Updates (including installation of IE9) is up to date. I have even updated the VAIO Care to the latest release. It did not solve the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? The only major change I recently made to the machine is installing Adobe Acrobat Professional X.

Googling the errors did not help much either.

    Please help!

    Regards, rudi

Did you try rolling back to an earlier restore point?

No did not try to scroll back, as there would be many restore points created by Windows Updates.

I neglected to mention that I installed Win7 SP1. Somehow I suspect this may have something to do with these problems...
