    Hey Guys...

I've got a Pro 13, i5, 4gb and 128gb SSD, I love it, but I'm fairly particular about getting as close to a base install as possible. I previously tried to install Win 8 via USB and it worked fine. I install practically all of the Vaio sortware drivers from their site and as much as I could directly from intel. However, I was unable to enable "Sleep". If I went to settings -> power the only options I got where shut-down and reboot. I've looked for anything I was missing, but there were no missing drivers or yellow question marks in device manager. I eventually decided to go back and restore the Vaio original software and everything is back and working ok.

Has anyone had any luck doing a clean install on these machines and getting them to work as expected? Any specifics on what drivers you installed, and form where?

    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

Personally I'm happy letting the computer sleep whenever I close the lid, but if you want the option explicitly then I think this is the guide you're after:

Power Options Menu - Add or Remove Sleep or Hibernate in Windows 8

That's not the issue... even when the lid closed, it would do nothing. If you went to power options -> what to do when the lid closes... Nothing was selected and if you clicked the drop down, there was no option to sleep.

Anyway, I finally figured out the issue. It was the video drivers... I tried a clean install again, and as soon as I installed the newest intel video drivers, the sleep option appeared all over the system.

    Thanks,
    Rich
