Something screwy is going on with my SZ.
Wireless has stopped working, or at best works infrequently, for minutes at a time, then drops out, saying it can't obtain a valid IP address. Have tried on several wireless networks at numerous locations, and it's not working. I have tried both the ProSet/Wireless and Windows own wireless management. No luck.
Even with an ethernet cable plugged in, when the system goes into hibernation and is awoken, the LAN connection says it is connected but can't find an IP address and won't connect to the internet. This is happening in two entirely different locations, using a different ISP and hardware setup, so it must be the system at fault here.
Furthermore, my audio has stopped working. I go to the sound properties and it informs me I have no audio device. Then when I reboot it works. But then stops again sometime later.
Also, my Windows appearance will revert back to Windows classic. And when I go into the settings to try and change it, all the other options have gone. But then I reboot and they appear again, only to later disappear again at some random moment.
All of this is just so random. It's not like it's an outright fault that is just properly permenantly broken. It's like it's got a mind of it's own, and just decides to work sometimes but mostly would rather not.
This is getting a bit annoying to say the least. The system is only about a month old. Should I wipe everything and do a complete restore, or what?

yes, better do a restore

Try setting your router to "G" mode only instead of a mix of B and G protocols.
Try re-setting your router security, using a TKIP password.
Try changing the broadcast channel of your router due to possible interference from other routers, cordless phones, microwaves etc.
Re-boot your cable modem by unplugging from the wall, re-plugging, then re-booting your router.
If after these steps its still not working, then a more drastic approach like restoring the OS might be in order.

Yeh a restore would be a good idea - its quite quick and easy

If your problems were my own, I'd try boldjames' suggestions and run AV/malware scans before restoring.
It's all going wrong...!
