    Hello.
I'm going to order new Vaio Z directly from Japanese SonyStyle. But I still have few questions about CTO:

    1. Why can't I choose both WiMax and WWAN at the same time? Z comes with Intel 6250 card and dedicated 3G modem in Europe, is Japanese version different in this regard? Will it have USB in miniPCI-E slot for 6200 card if ordered without WiMax but with 3G?

    2. I can't find pictures showing all keyboards available... I'm interested in backlight version with keys layout as close to US as possible.

    Thanks in advance!

As far as I understand WiMax is card just like 3G modem card so you need to choose one or another. Only difference between Japanese model with 3g and European model is that 3G modem in Japan is locked to NNT Docomo.

    English layout:

    Basically it's the US keyboard.

Does English layout available as CTO option in Japan? Here's what they have:
    - Alphabetic sequence
    - Array Japanese
What does each layout look like?

Intel 6250 Wi-Fi/WiMax card is single card that simply replaces 6200 Wi-Fi card without additional slot, space or antenna required. I'm not sure about whether Sony uses dedicated WiMax cards in Japan or not... And USB in miniPCI-e slot is even more important for me.

I think Alphabetic sequence is actually English layout and it's as on picture in my previous post (US layout).

Yes sony offers dedicated WiMax card in Japan that is the reason you can choose between 3G and WiMax

This is the link to page with all CTO options in Japan. There you can see details about configurations:

I can see four keyboards available on the Japanese CTO and the one the picture is 英字配列. BTW as far as I know, Sonystyle Japan doesn't ship outside Japan, so I hope you thought this through.

Yep, but only 2 of those can be ordered with backlight. And I know guys that will help me with buying it from Japan..... But I'm still waiting for 1080p to appear in US CTO. :D

Same here, why is Sony holding back from 1080p CTO in the US? So ratarded!
