    Hi

I spilled juice onto my fz21s keyboard about a week ago I cleaned the laptop keyboard out by striping each key off and pulling up the membrain the keyboard has been working fine and still is!

The problem now is that the display is showing a vertical blue line its flashing on and off but sometimes just goes.

I did carefully take the laptop apart at the time of the spill and the juice as far as could see on got as far as the cd bay and back of the keyboard and I could see no trace on the mainboard! the juice never even got on the screen!

I cleaned all this up and cheaked everything with a bright light for any other liquid but nothing! now this problems shows a week later i missed some you reakon!?

I tried external monitor no blue line so I imagine the liquid had ingressed into the LCD driver board? or the connector? or could it be more likely that the lcd is just decided to go at the same time?

I dont know if to go a stage further and remove the whole board wich is risky as the heatsinks screw it down or send it back to sony and act dumb!

ive only had the laptop 5 months!!! anyonehad any look with content insurance?

    Carl

you could send back to sony but if they find evidence of spill, you're out of luck as your warranty will be voided immediately. if you really do suspect juice, you might want to weigh the pros and cons of taking it apart anyways. sounds like your SOL anyways, so it might worth it to take it apart because chances are you're going to have to pay expensive repair charges or :D get a sager2092/5793 in the near future. :D

Got accident protection? I also heard some credit cards cover for accidental damage on products. A guy I work with had his kid throw a remote and break their new LCD TV and Visa covered it. Probably a special card though.
