I have a Sony Vaio SA.

When the charge reaches full 100% on the laptop and the battery slice, does the charger switch off even when plugged in so not to over-charge or does it just continue to charge until you take the charger out?

And also, same question for the battery care 80% thing (instead of charging to max 100%).

they all cycle charge status is my understanding, so basically, dont leave it overnight charging as it will keep topping up, using up valuable charge cycles

however, its lithium ion, so no memory, as such you can run it as low as you like and charge it up as little as you like within the 10-90% range with very few ill effects.

Thankyou :) I would never keep it on charge over night (same with my SE phone) but occationally I do leave it on charge for a few hours (when I know it will have fully charged by then). Its good that even though its plugged in, it will stop charging (but then re-charge), my old laptop never did that, it would just keep charging if you left the charger in it.
