How do I do a semi-clean on my new VGN-NR160E/S? I'm trying to get rid of ALL the bloatware and anything else that I don't need. I did look at the other topic but they did not Mention the NR Series.

    Thanks in advance.

Find the programs you do not need and remove them through add or remove software. Some applications don't remove their folders so you may have to manually delete them. If unsure then leave it until you know if you want to keep them. Or you can re-image the drive and selectively add applications as needed.

NinjaNoodle mention a Semi-Clean install, but I don't see the NR Series listed.

Oh. When i got my last laptop I tried removing programs I didn't want but ended up doing a complete reinstall of XP. I also wiped out all the partitions (on purpose) and my media direct button does not work but that's ok with me. Nothing beats a clean install.

The semi clean install doesn't remove all the bloatware though. You can unistall them manually. I did that way and I have only 49-55 processes (out of box had 76) running when no other programs are open.
