sz series' keyboard is crap, I can't live with that noise while using in quiet evironment, it is slack and perfunctory with a cheap. looking. TZ's keyboard is way much better IMO.

Well I guess it must be one of those keyboards that just appeals to certain people. I know many people who like it, some love it, some hate it (you). I don't mind it at all. I don't like it much... but I don't mind it.

Nope, i just complainted that and 1 of their staffs took a look on it then money back to me. it was painless. BTW, why i bought it from bestbuy? total money out of pocket there is almost the same as an online deal (1899+%8.625=2062). i am in new york. easy return or get replacement without any waiting time.

Every best buy that I've been to really enforces the rule. They will just say that the laptop is working to spec and that's the end of it.

That's why I'll never go there again. I really think that their business practices are shady. When getting my replacement SZ 650, they tried to sell me a replacement plan, saying that another person's older S460 model had his lcd screen replaced for $937. That is hysterical! They showed me the receipt of what they charged the guy.

You can pick up that entire computer on ebay for less than that. They are really ridiculous. The lcd should cost at most $200. Then they tried to get me to "optimize" the computer for a $150. That's insulting. Since when did buying a computer become like buying a car? All kinds of tactics these days.

It's insane what Best Buy is attempting to pull off on people.

15% is the usual restocking fee. Dell has it, HP has it, Best buy has it, Circuit City has it, Newegg has it. Basically everyone.

Fry's doesn't have it, usually a no questions asked policy for notebooks 15days.

And Amazon.com used to have a liberal return policy but they just revised it, probably because I returned too many notebooks! :D

I returned mine to Fry's and while they don't charge a restocking fee, I wouldn't exactly call the experience pleasant. First they have to do the paperwork, then they send you to the tech department where a guy looks it over (stood in line forever), then they OK'd the replacement, then you have to go back to the customer service department, then wait for them to bring out a new one.
