I currently own the A 290 laptop which I purchased 1.5 years ago. I use my computer as a desktop replacement. I use my computer for digital photography, database, audio using Winamp, and downloading and playing TV shows using Bit Torrent. I was thinking of purchasing a dual core notebook either the Mac Book Pro or a Sony FE or SZ series. I ruled out the Mac Book Pro when I saw it as the screen is nothing like the Sony X-Brite. Unfortunately Sony does not make a !7" laptop with the WUXGA resolution. I plan to purchase a 24" monitor in the near future and will need DVI output on the laptop. My A 290 has the entertainment dock which has DVI as well as digital audio outputs. Would it be a good idea to purchase the SONY SZ or FE series. To me the display is the most important part of a laptop. I need sharp images and bright colors for my digital photos. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd keep the A290 because I just can't justify getting a new laptop after 1.5 yrs.
However, the digital photography and database may benefit from the dual core system methinks.
