I know that there are several threads on the subject, but I was hoping to get the definitive answers documented as there still is confusion as one has to hop from thread to thread in 'search' to get the answers.
1. Is the 120W version the one recommended for the SZ?
2. Is this a world-wide charger, meaning that in Europe or Asia it will run on their 220V outlets as well as the US 110V?
3. Is the optional N27 tip any better than the included N4?
4. Does Kensington make an extra-long cord for those that want a little more length?
5. Do the car and airline adapters come with the purchase or do you need to buy them seperately.
TIA
BJ

The answers to most of your questions:
1) Yes, the 70W is too light.
2) Yes, you just need a plug adapter
3) I'll get back to you on this one. Adapter is at work, not sure what tip I am using. I bought the adapter in a kit that did not have tips and bought the Sony tips seperately. I remember that one of them would fit in the laptop but not work properly (power would cut out).
4) For some reason Kensington thinks you plug the adapter in close to the wall. The cable from the adapter to the tip is quite long though (I think it is 6 feet). I have not found a Kensington extension so I use one I bought at a hardware store.
5) It depends on what version you buy. Kensington has a version that is just for AC and one just for DC. You will want the one that offers the combo. Like this one on Amazon.com Kensington AC/DC
I hope this helps. -

I also recommend getting the travel cord http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-33347-Travel-Winder-Adapters/dp/B000E59I22.
Much better if you're on the road a lot. -
I believe 120W is good for SZ, according to the SONY STYLE site, the SZ4 requires 105W +/10%.

I use a kensington 120w ac/dc (model 33197) with the N27 tip. For some reason, the power would cut out intermittently when I use the N4 tip with my SZ38 (Au version)
Mine came with the DC plug and the airplane plug.
I'd love to get a spare power plug (the short one), but have not been able to find it here in Aus. Talking to Kensington in Aus, if I lose that part, I would have to buy a whole new kit as they do not stock that as a spare part -
It is the N27. The N4 does not fit well enough.

I did not realize they had this. When I originally bought my adapter this did not exist.
Looks better and more compact then the hardware store one I was dragging along. More money going to Amazon.com tonight...

Thank you!
Today I walked into a Circuit City store to purchase the 120W. They had the adapter but did not have the N27 tip (just a 2 piece tip kit with the N12 and N4). On the front of the package for the 120W was a big decal that said "call us if you have any questions" so right there on the selling floor I take out my mobile and call Kensington. The Circuit City guy looked puzzled as I spoke to the Kensington rep, explained that they didn't have an N27, and asked if he could help me out.
Don't you know he took my name and address and put a free N27 in the mail right there on the spot
So....I've got the 120W and will have the tip in a few days. Good job by Kensington on the customer service.

Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
I was considered the Kensington 120W, but i dont like the smart tip idea.
As i have a Mitac chassey Laptop, and i dont know what tip i would need as it is not on the supported list.
I bought a Trust PW-1300p 120Watt, it is ajustable from 15-24volts and comes with 6 tips.
It`s a bit on the large size, but it`s for home use only.
I bought it from ebay as nearly-new for approx $27 delivered.
regards.

I've been reading that some owners of this adapter have found that the maximum wattage that an airline seat will provide is 70W. Has anyone who owns this product experienced any airlines that this 120W adapter would not function on?
