I had just took the keyboard key off becuase I saw something underneath the key and wanted to clean it. It won't snap don on one side so it's loose.

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NR260D. It's the Start Key.

Did you break the key by accident?

Maybe try putting a little bit of cardboar below the key so its raised a bit when you snap it on.
Make sure you can pull the cardboard out afterwards!
