My friend has a VGN-FE590 that has problem with the LCD. She thinks its the video card, but I don't think it is, I think it's the LCD itself. The LCD as soon as it turns on turns into a weird grayish color and it looks like someone filled the inside of the LCD with some liquid although she knows nothing about it. I can output to an external monitor perfectly fine, so I don't think it's the video card. I pulled the laptop display apart today thinking it might have been the wires going from the motherboard to the LCD, or from the LCD to the inverter, but it made no difference, the wires all looked fine, and jiggling them around did nothing.
Basically what happens when you turn it on, it loads to the windows login screen, you can barely see anything, and if you move the mouse, you just see it slowly disappear off the screen, and then reappear where you move it, like you can't see the cursor when moving it.
What do you guys think? The LCD is pretty cheap to replace, like $60, so if thats the issue, I can easily fix it, but if it is the video card, then I can't do anything.

Yep, it sounds like the LCD itself.

Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this problem and if it was fixed by replacing the LCD screen?

Yeah, all slushy rain, hoping it will all freeze and I'll have no school or delayed opening tomorrow
My screen had a problem with red lines going across it. They replaced he screen and it was fine afterwards, so I hope that helps.
