So I had a vaio SZ660 which essentially died. It would power up, check the dvd drive and then just stay on but not do anything and it wouldn't send any image to any screen (attached or external monitor). After simple checks like reseating the RAM etc. I figured something on the motherboard probably went. I checked ebay for a motherboard, and I bought a SZ645 motherboard since it seemed like a similar motherboard with a different CPU.

I swapped out the CPU and RAM and then the screen. I now have the issue that the image displayed to the screen is only visible by shining a flashlight on the screen.

I guess my question is, would a LED screen not be compatible with the originally CCFL motherboard? I wouldn't want to buy a replacement LED LCD thinking it's the lcd that has issues, or a new connection cable, only to find out that for some other reason the screen isn't compatible in the first place.
