anyone?....

Replacement keyboard on eBay? That's the only option I can think of right now.
-
Best option actually. Unless you can get Sony to send you the keys themselves.
cheers ... -
After all these years, broken/loose keys along with bad hinges, are still big problems with laptops. These are the type of thing that's best handled by publications like Consumer Reports. Laptop manufacturers need to do better.
-
And getting hit by books/DVDs (happened in my case once) - is not normal usage. -
Wizardry -

i don't want a whole keyboard, I just want ONE key.

If you include an empty key (and for the SZ you'd need 8 odd different ones to cover all key types) - people will whine on how they are blank - and stickers can't repalce the print.
So you'd need to have spare for every key in which case you may as well sell a spare keyboard...
And keyboards (for laptops) tend to be "expensive" - at least to the customer.
(I'm pretty sure not to the manufacturer) -

Different fittings - and You couldn't type on it. -

Shift...
You possibly are right about the space key being a tad more stable/strong - but if people play games it may get more of a beating too...
I think you also end up hitting it harder in a way... and you hit space more often than most letters, unless you tend to write long words... all the time...
