    Hi,
I bought an accidental damage protection plan from Sony for my laptop which I paid $1,900 before taxes and and an extra $500 for the protection plan. Just recently, the laptop fell into the pool and I sent it for repair. Sony told me that they will replace it but I don't know how it work. Do they offer something of equal value or similar hardware feature set?

They will send you back the closest model they have with equal or better hardware specifications.
