I posted here before about a problem with my laptop's screen. I found out that it's a connection problem as when I pressed below the screen on the left part the lines changed, and it was even fixed until I let go.
Today I opened (only by removing the bezel) it up and saw the connector that was making to problem. I took out the screen to have a better look at it. I did this by simply unplugging one cable. I had a look at it and put it back in. During the process I saw the power indicator flash. Then when I turned it on after reinserting the screen, the laptop did not turn on at all. Also, the power indicator doesn't light up either.
I am really worried that I did something wrong.
Thanks in advance.

I have seen that happen before
When the screen connectors are removed while a power cord, or laptop battery is still in place
A power fuse blows or fuse for the inverter backlight
If its that ,not much can be done as they are small and soldered to the m/b
You could try disconecting the power the battery and let it set for a while
That sometimes works with electronics

Thanks I will leave it disconnected. Any other problem it might be?
-
If you had it plugged in via AC or Battery while doing this, you're screwed, first rule when assembling a laptop or anything electronic is to always disconnect any power sources as batterys and such.
And as it happened while you plugged it back in and while you had the battery in, i don't think there is anything else that caused the problem as it seems to be pretty clear what the problem is in this case!
So the only thing AFAIK is to try to locate whatever it was that broke and replace it by soldering a new part onto. -
Yeah... I always take the battery and power out, but my friend was the one that took the screen out without me knowing he was going to do it. He does have a lot of experience but he's very reckless because he's spoiled, so he breaks something he'll just get a new one without a problem.
I still have warranty but I'm not sure if that'll be of any good here in Spain or even at all. -
I see. Tell him to fix it then if he knew that he did wrong and spoiled
But in the other hand, warranty should be valid, no matter where you buy it aslong as it's bought from a store.
You should mail sony about the issue and tell them that you wanna send it in for warranty, sony should be able to tell you if you can send it in under warranty or not. But i don't see a problem as it's sony paying for it in the end anyways, no matter where in the world it is happening or being taken cared off. -
I bought my laptop on www.newegg.com (online US store) but I'm thinking of going to this Sony shop here that's close to see what they can do or recommend me to do. -
Too bad!
Yeah go there, but just tell them that you have warranty on it and that you want it repaired, and see what they say. Claim that warranty should be valid no matter where you live as sony is sony and will pay for it anyways.Hope it turns out well!
Laptop doesn't boot
