    Laptop froze and then restarted itself, what happened?

    Hello, I was using my laptop two days ago and everything froze, including audio, the screen went black for a couple of seconds and the machine restarted itself, after that I've had no problems.

    I did a RAM/HD check and they both passed fine, I did a virus/spyware scan and it found nothing.. so what happened?

    I was using youtube at the time with my laptop cooler going full pelt (I haven't used it since) so could it have been flash which caused my machine to do that?

    I have had no issues with heat and the machine is just fresh out of warranty.

    I've got the Sony Vaio VPCEE3E0E.

    I would start with event log to examine if your pc recorded any errors.
