It's almost a month now that am trying to get my bluetooth working on my FE570G. I've done practically everything and i've made several post on this forum, but nobody helped me. Today i was looking at toshiba bluetooth software, and when i click on device info everything was 000000 except for Manufacture Name: which is Ericsson Technology Licensing. does this mean that i do not have a toshiba bluetooth hardware? Does this mean that toshiba bluetooth stack is not for me? Please somebody help! for now i've bought a usb bluetooth doongle but i just can't get over the fact that i have an internal bluetooth but it is not working. The bluetooth indicator is their and working whenever i enable it in wireless switch utility. One more thing i dont have windows bluetooth manager.

Could somebody also point me to another good forum like this? maybe i can get help..... :(

When you activate your (internal) bluetooth and open your device manager what do you see when opening the "COM and LTP Ports" Tab? It should give you a whole list with "Toshiba BT Port (COMxx)"

Have you done a clean Windos XP install or are you still running on your original Sony version?

Have you tried installing the drivers from your recovery disc?

In device manager, i see only toshiba bluetooth port 64.
Am still runing the original win XP that came with the system.
I did 5 complete system restore, 4 restore drive C:, and uninstal & reinstal from the recovery disc & sonys website.

hmm, thats not right it should show at least a few more ports. Did the internal bluetooth ever work on your system before?

Have you tried uninstalling, reboot, then installing the toshiba bluetooth stack, then activating bluetooth (in this order). This is the normal way to go..

I never used it before........now that i need it, its no working. I did install and ininstall several times but nothing worked for me.

When installing Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, half way during installation, it will ask me to plug in my bluetooth device. Maybe i dont have the hardware, but i have everything, the bluetooth light indicator and on wireless switch utility.

I just want to open this notebook and see if i dont have it

This will happen when you try to install the bluetooth stack/usb driver while the bluetooth is turned off (led and switch turned off). But since your led and switch was turned on while you installed the bluetooth stack there may be a hardware issue.

Even when no drivers are installed in the device manager you should see a "UGX" entry with a question mark icon under unknown devices, which represents the unknown bluetooth device. Windows should detect the new hardware device but not identify it until the proper drivers are installed. In your situation, Windows isn't even detecting a hardware change prior to installing the drivers so again it can be hardware related. You had said earlier that Windows was able to detect your external bluetooth device and you didn't mess with any of the default registry or windows settings, so this further convinces me that it's hardware related.
