About to pull trigger on the new Sony VPCZ11 -How would you rate the screen quality on this notebook as opposed to say the T410 Lenovo, or W510? Or any other comparable for that matter. Thanks
I'm really looking for a great screen and it seems they all lack in some way or another.

I'm also curious about the Z11 screen quality vs. previous-gen Vaio Z (because I have access to one, so I can compare... and I know it's beautiful), if someone has the two side by side.

To be perfectly honest, I have yet to find a flaw in this screen (I'm talking about the Z11). I got the 1600x900 one and it's amazing. Much better than my previous laptop (Acer Aspire, no surprise here), much better than a CS that I used for a while and I feel that it's also better than a Lenovo T400s that I had an opportunity to test recently. Altogether it's a great screen.

One more thing: I really love that it's not glossy, but it's also not too matte. It's more or less in the middle which gives a great end result.

Compare with my MacBook Pro, the Z is more crispy and nature color. Although my MacBook Pro 17" has 1080p resolution, but the Z's 1600 by 900 resolution in a 13" screen is very cool and very clear. As long as Lenovo T410, its screen quality is so so.

just curious, did anyone calibrate the screen colour for Z, or is it not necessary (and just use it out of the box)?

i'm colourblind, and can't really detect whether the colours are washed out or over saturated

I wonder if the 1600x900 is TN based or some kind of 8-bit panel.

I absolutely love the inbetween with it not being glossy and not fully matte.
Awesome, I sold my Mbp for this laptop and am loving every minute.

I also love the screen, even more than the screen of the older Z.

The 1920x1080/FHD screen should be more comparable to the screen of the W510, both have 95% coverage of AdobeRGB (stated in the european Sony sites... not stated in the US site, so I'm not sure it's the same screen!)

I was worried about the 1600x900, but since receiving the laptop have gotten multiple compliments on how great the screen looks. I think it's fine.

TN panel are not bad at all. In fact they can look very good head on. But they do have limited viewing angles and are only 6bit. I really wish I could see this laptop in person, stress it and see how hot this little bugger gets.
