Hrmm, those SZ's don't make much sense at all.

As a Santa Rosa platform, they would at least need to have GMAX3100, right?

I was really thinking the Santa Rosa SZ's would feature GMAX3100 and GeForce Go 8400's as a replacement.

Honestly other than finally moving from EDGE to HSDPA, they seem to be identical. Seems kind of disappointing.

SZ5 isn't SR platform, as it appears.

I just want to know whatta heck is the difference between SZ4 and SZ5 ?
As for HSDPA, you are forgetting the fact that these are european versions of SZ series and HSDPA isn't built in, it's just express card just like in SZ4 and SZ3 series.

And, with that left out, what is the difference really ?

It would appear that some of the above information was incorrect:

    http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/09/sony-bumps-vaio-sz-and-ar-notebooks-to-santa-rosa/

It looks like the SZ5 will in fact be Santa Rosa, and has different specs from those mentioned above. Perhaps the ones above are European models or something?

Actually completely different.... different CPU's, Sprint EVDO instead of HSPDA, and the GPU's have been upgraded from GMA950/GeForce 7400 to GMAX3100 and GeForce 8400M.

Seems like the Santa Rosa SZ's should be very interesting indeed.
