    Hi,
I'm disliking Windows 7 and am planning on factory restoring my Vista x86 Business. All in all, I find VERY little performance benefits despite a clean install, system temperatures are more-or-less the same (2-3 degrees less on 7), and one needs some time getting used to the new GUI.

Ok, before W7 die-hard fans flame me, I do acknowledge benefits like faster startup (about 10 seconds faster now) and shut down (done in about 5 seconds).

And apart from that, the new Windows 7 is prettier, something which I ain't interested in.
    --------------------------

    Anyway, my question is:

Is it possible to use x86 Windows 7 drivers with x86 Vista?
My plan is to just install the drivers and apps when I've restored the factory Vista. So basically overwriting the existing factory drivers. This is because

    a) they are the latest drivers and
    b) there are some VAIO Control Centre bugs in Vista that Windows 7 seems to have fixed.

Graphics is another issue for me. Although I've got powermizer disabled at the moment with a custom app, it seems that powermizer is enabled to be rather aggressive in W7 unlike Vista. Does anyone with W7 x86 here experience the Z slowing down graphics-wise when it is idle for a minute or so? Try the Windows key + TAB; is that laggy with the nVidia card, and does it take a few attempts to get that flipping smoothly? I ain't too keen on using a custom app to hack that setting to my liking...

Anyway, I'm currently using x64 W7. They may be some issues present on x86 W7 that I'm not aware of. Would you be interested in sharing them here...?

And would somebody post up a link to the Sony ftp drivers site...? I can't seem to find it anymore...

    Cheers in advance
