there is a official leather cover for TZ ( http://TinyURL.com/39or9y)...
    so, what about SZ?

I have been using SZ680 for over 1 month now, I found out that the lid is pretty vulnerable to scratches. I already got 2 tiny straches on the lid. :( I was replacing memory on a flat table, and I made sure the table is clean. but when I finished, I found two little scratches on the lid... I had no idea how the scratches got on my lid... I guess small dust particles did the job? should have put something in between the lid and the table...

how much does it cost to replace the lid by the way? but there's no point to replace the lid if it will get scratch again... I do have a case, but case only protects the notebook when you are not using it...

I wish there was an official leather cover for SZ like TZ has...

would be nice, except it makes your especially slim notebook become a not so especially slim notebook.

No, Sony does not make one. You could find a third party one, but not from Sony.

That's a real bummer you got scartches on your lid. It is a Premium Carbon lid? I am surprised it would scratch so easily.

that's true, but I would rather have my notebook protected...

i hope sony will make one in the future... T and G series already have it...
where can you find a third party one?

it is a bummer, i was a bit upset about it for a while... yes, SZ680 is a premium model with regular carbon fiber casing. only the SZ691 has the premium carbon fiber casing. The material is not weak, but it's not very good with resisting scratches...
