    So you have 4 GB RAM, but it shows 3.xx in System Properties?
    or 8GB RAM, and it shows (7.xx GB) with xx (RESERVED)

    Just try this and see if it helps relocate your hidden RAM.

    I've been seeing lots of plp. complaining about this, and it happened to me once after I completed a a thorough tweaking Process.

    Start -> Run -> MSCONFIG

    BOOT Tab -> ADVANCED

    MAKE SURE THE CHECK BOX FOR (MAXIMUM MEMORY) IS UN-TICKED

    UN-TICK IT IF ITS TICKED

    REBOOT

    AND LET ME KNOW YOU RESULTS.

    The maximum memory option is unchecked by default.

    That's for you, not for everybody else, Plus, mainly out-of-box laptops does not have those issues, but TWEAKED ONES do.

    Tweaking is not a Windows issue, and you are posting this as if you found a solution for some existing Windows OS issue.

    I just checked this on my Vaio Z. (Out-of-the-box, not tweaked) Maximum Memory option was unticked by default.

    Besides I thought the Less RAM than Actual problem was because the onboard graphics card reserved some memory.

    And whom exactly said that it "IS A WINDOWS OS ISSUE" ? Did I ? I never claimed that, and by the way, there is NOTHING WRONG from Windows OS regarding this glitch, its either a false Tweak that has been applied, or another software related issue.

    Well, I fixed mine that way, liked it or not, and now its GONE, and I have my 6GB RAM, w/o the RESERVED amount in sys. properties.

    It was unticked by default, and I'm still only at 3.68GB.

    Also, I can't tell if English is your first language, but you come off as quite rude.

    Lets see now, you perform some tweak that screws up your machine and then you go into a WINDOWS OS setting to "fix" the problem right? And then suggest it is some "other software related issue"?

    Then you go on to berate folks who are baffled with your rambling in this thread and call them names and insult their POSSIBLE heritage? Yep you are off to a real good start here. Well Einstein, you can't tell where someone is from by their name. I happen to know that one of the folks you just insulted lives in Chicago. Hardly a 3rd world nation.

    I suggest you apologize for this sort of childish behavior.

    You asked for results and a majority of people said it didn't work. Why are you getting all pissy? I applaud your efforts in trying to solve this "problem", but its not really a problem to begin with. OnBoard GPU needs memory and reserves some, and IIRC, its shared.

    Exactly.

    Why was this even a "problem"? This is exactly like those threads in which people as where there "missing" hard disk space is.

    Am from my NY myself, and I would like to take this opportunity to say Sorry.

    But it fixed my situation, that's why I wanted to share, and I asked for results too = = = = meaning, I'm not Einstein.

    Sorry also that I wanted to help!
