Does anyone have any experience in running linux on the Vaio S series, particularly one with the hybrid graphics? I really need Linux for programming, but wasn't sure how the hybrid graphics drivers would effect its compatibility.

Trust me, hybrid graphics is the least of your concerns. The darned, blasted InsydeH2O UEFI is going to give you more trouble.

Have a look at my thread here: Sony VAIO S and EFI troubles

This BIOS is on the latest SVS sytems? I was pricing out a SVS151190X and want to run linux on it. I would probably keep windows on it, just in case I have to call customer support someday.

Any info on what you think of these computers would be great. But if the BIOS is that big of a PIA, then I will look elsewhere.

Yes, all new Sony systems use InsydeH2O UEFI; certainly the SVS-15" does. Refer here for a possible solution: Sony VAIO S and EFI troubles

Note that reFind did not work for me, it's GUI was horribly corrupted for me.
