I'm about to try - just wanted to know if there was anything I should know. For the moment I've given up on trying to get Windows XP on it.

Everything is fine except Brightness does not work in SPEED mode.
Either Volume or Brightness functional keys may not work.

    Strange you have a 690 and not a 590? I'm wondering if I got a bum z690. I was able to install XP on my z540 no problem - can't on my z690. I can't install 7 on my z690 either!

I have Z590. I haven't tried XP on my Z590, but I did both 32bit and 64bit Vista and Windows 7 on my Z. Vista works excellent with both 32 and 64bit.
Both W7 32 and 64bit has problem with Brightness in SPEED mode and functional keys.

    Don't know the difference between a Z690 and Z680, but here's what I did on my Z680: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=336895

I'm trying to load Build 7000 on my Z690. I keep getting a blue screen which reboots the system. Any ideas how to avoid?

I seem to be up and running ok on Build 7000, except for a couple of issues:

    1. The GOBI UNDP-1 Driver would not install.
    2. I can't turn on the WWAN Broadband device.
    3. I can't see the GPS device.

So far thats it...more to come as i experience it.
