I have acquired a Sony Vaio VPC SE laptop. I looked into the insides and discovered that t the reason that it will not start up is that the two ribbon cables between the CPU motherboard and the card reader I/O board are stripped of contacts on both ends.
I asked two local computer repair shops if they had replacements or could repair the existing cables. The answer was "no" on both points.
Does anyone out here have one or two of these ribbon cables that they would sell ?

The ribbons have part numbers printed on them, did you search on ebay/aliexpress for those part numbers?

    Thank you for your response.
Yes, I have searched for the part #'s on both AliExpress and eBay with no success.
I've also followed the eBay parts postings for Vaio laptops and have queried the parts vendors if they might have or know of any, again with no luck.
It was suggested that I buy one of the "for parts" VAIO VPCSE's and strip it for parts. That seems pretty drastic.
