I recently was able to restore the HD of my picturebook (C1VPK) after a rather painful crash, and I have found myself in a bit of a predictament. While I have been able to install Windows XP fairly comfortably, I have been unable to locate a copy of the LongRun drivers. Now I know these are on the restore CDs, but I am 300 miles away from them, and my roomate back there has given up searching through the pile of unlabeled media that is my desk.
I'm hoping someone could perhaps find it in their heart to help out a fellow owner who happens to have the restore CDs in their posession. I do not need the restore CDs themselves, but rather a single driver contained within.
If anybody could give me a hand, I'd be overjoyed to hear back in a response to this thread.(If I happen to be in violation of Forum policy, just let me know and I'll allow this thread to die)
Edit: As it turns out, the solution was easy as hell.
Simply download the improper driver from Sony's website, in my case using the Windows 2000 C1N line as a basis, and start the installation
At this point, a hidden file is created in the Windows XP root, windows\drivers\ppanel
Before quitting the installer, navigate to that location and run the installer contained within. Bam! Next boot, you've got a fully functional PowerPanel.
Looking for a Picturebook owner to give me a hand...
