I'm considering, as alternative to Lenovo T400 and Hp 2530P, to looking also for a second hand Sony, preferably with a display <= 14.1"

Are there some budget but still valid models that I could consider (And find not too difficulty) ?

    More important to me:

    - keyboard and build quality
    - display
    - portability
    - battery life
    - at least average performance

I'll use the notebook esclusively in a business oriented way.

    thks, Stefano.

I guess you could try get a second hand Vaio Z1 or Z2, but it would probably cost you nearly $1k or so. (Note: Z1's battery life and hinges are not a strong point, in my opinion)

Budget + Sony Vaio = bad idea. Sony's high-end laptops are really nice, but their low-end laptops aren't appreciably better than some of their consumer-class competition while still being more expensive. And their lower-end models simply don't compare to business-class models like Thinkpads and Probooks. They should be compared to Dell Inspirons and HP Pavilions.

And what about this specific model:
    -VPC-SB1X9E
    -13.3"
    -Core i5-2410M
    -Ram 4GB
    -Hd 500
    ?

I have the opportunity to buy it for 550 euro.
This is more than my initial budget but if it was a "deal" I could consider to buy.

For what concern keybard, buil quality and battery life how this product is ?

Apart this aren't there other models that in the second hand market could be find at a cost around 250/300 euro ?

    Thanks, Stefano.
