Hey guys. I love sony vaios. My brother bought a VGN-SR190 when he went to school 2 years ago. I LOVE that laptop. Does the EA even compare to the build quality and performance? or is it lower-end? I really want an optical drive so the Y doesn't really apply, and my Budget is around $1500 so the Z is out i guess. Just seeing how the EA compares. Thanks guys

If you can get a VGN-Z (not the new VPC-Z), you should be able to spend less than $1500 and still get a pretty good laptop. You won't be getting an old laptop if you find the latest releases of this series, they would be less than 1 year old.

The VGN-Z could last at least for a couple of years in college, in most cases.
