Hi, I have a sony SZ 160P/C and I have noticed that the left hinge cover is loose. The hinge is fine but the left hinge cover (grey) is loose and moves aroud. The fitment seems to be an issue. The right hinge cover doesn't move but it seems to be pointed a little bit upwards on the left end. Is this normal? I don't recall ever putting much pressure on the laptop

ya, let's say most of the sz has this common problem, specially the US/Canada and some of the Japanese version, but seem the taiwanese version doesn't have this problem at all.

as i know that all the vaio has three different quality level (A,B,C) A as best made, C as rarely passed the manufature quality test.
Sony sell the top one A to US and Canada, B to Euroupe HongKong Taiwan Korea and Japan themselve, C to all Communism countries, like China......
So, us as US and Canada should get the best quality of the VAIO
after all. 6/10 of the Vaio has motherboard, battery, Lcd dead pixels problems in China as i know.

I had this problem..where the left hinge cover was moving..now couple of months down the line ..the screen bezel has split open (luckily no damage to screen)...and I can see now that the hinge was too stiff and has come off the back or front cover (can't make it out) and always splits the covers open ...when I open or close the notebook.

Moral of the story....if the hinge cover is bobbling about..get it checked...

Guess what ....I've run out of warranty....so may be someone can help me ..I need the screen covers and hinge to be on the safe side....anyone ?
